GRAPES

Grapes are grown in Rioja Alta, from vineyards of over 50 years old. Picking is carefully monitored as to reach the ideal level of phenolic and aromatic maturation and grapes reach the winery in trailers of maximum 4.000kg.

Varieties: 95% Tempranillo - 5% Mazuelo

WINEMAKING METHOD

Traditional process of stemming, cold maceration for 2 to 3 days and fermentation at a temperature of between 26-28 oC. The wine remains barreled for 14-15 days.

AGEING

Upon completion of malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked off and left without further treatment for 1-2 months and further ages in American oak casks for 12 months.

TASTING NOTES

Cherry colour with light purple accents, lively and fruity, dominated by wooden note. Well rounded phenolic balance. Wide, soft, well structured taste with long tannis.

Refined after taste.

SERVING TEMPERATURE

Best served at around 16ºC.

GRAPES

Grapes are grown in our 70 year old vineyards in Rioja Alta and have a yield of about 4000 -5000 kg per ha. The fruit is harvested manually and the grapes are taken to the winery in trailers of up to 5000kg.

Varieties: 90% Tempranillo - 10% Mazuelo

WINEMAKING METHOD

Stemmed grapes follow the traditional method. Placed in small tanks to macerate at low temperature for 2 to 3 days. Fermentation lasts about 7 days and the wine remains in the vat for 15-18 days.

AGEING

After, the malolactic fermentation takes place, the wine is poured into casks for a brief rest period.It stays in 2 year old American oak casks for 14 months in optimal conditions of temperature and humidity, which allows ideal maturing of the wine once bottled, for another 14 months. The wine has then achie- ved its highly appreciated complex stability.

TASTING NOTES

Intense dark Ruby-red colour. The reserve wine achieves its desired balance and refined bouquet through cask ageing and maturing. Meaty, full, expressive with a long, elegant serene aftertaste.

Best served at around 16º - 18 ºC.

GRAPES

Grapes are exclusively selected from our 700 ha vineyard located in Rioja Alta. Rioja Alta vines have low yields; therefor ripening is subject to close monitoring to ensure harvesting takes place on the ideal moment.

WINEMAKING METHOD

Once stemmed, the grapes mace- rate at low temperature for three days. The juice is poured into stainless steel barrels and alcoholic fermentation starts at a maximum temperature of  25ºC.

AGEING

Once the grapes are separated from the buds, malcolactic fermentation starts and wine is poured into barrels made out of American oak.

TASTING NOTES

Dark cherry colour with youthfull violet nuances .

Intense red-berry and oak aromas. Soft, sweet tannins, discreet toasted wood flavours. Intense, long end taste.
